South Havera is not a large island, and although now uninhabited since 1923, was once home to 8 families, with up to 50 people. They needed a power source to grind corn, and the island does not have running streams to power a watermill, so a (horizontal) windmill was the solution adopted in the 1860s, but it wasn't very successful.
