The current model, within the village of Greenhaily, represents a post mill. As is the case with many models in the village, this is not an accurate representation, in particular the sails are tapered so having an almost triangular appearance, which has been a feature of various windmill models featured in the village over the years.
In the 1930's the village had a more accurately modelled smock mill with a fantail, as can be seen in the photos of the visit of the then Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret in 1936. I believe this was still present in the 1950's. A c1939 leaflet (it notes the visitor numbers and charitable giving total for 1938) about the village states
Windmills are few nowadays, but in this dream village two are to be found.
