Common Mill: Tower mill function:Corn mill

Stump demolished 2022 when site redeveloped for housing.

There is a circular flower bed at the end of Corella Court, made from recycled bricks which may have come from the mill, that carries a short recollection of the mill:

Signboard says:

The former Spalding Common Windmill stood here.
A magnificent five-floored and four-sail tower mill. Erected 1816, operational until 1936. Sail frames removed in 1939. The final remaining lower 2 storeys demolished in 2022.
