| Trevor Stainwright has had a lifelong interest in windmills, which has included working on the restoration of Quainton windmill, Buckinghamshire, and the publication of the seminal book on Northamptonshire's windmills - Windmills of Northamptonshire and the Soke of Peterborough - A History of Twentieth Century Sites. W.D Wharton, 1991, 0951855700. As a result of his travels over the decades, Trevor has built up a large collection of slides he has taken of English windmills. He has generously allowed me to copy the images, for presentation on this site. As well as the slides, he provided me with detailed notes on when and where the photos were taken - my apologies for any errors I have made in transcribing these notes. |
